2. Icons appearing on extended display instead of main display | Windows 11 v22H2

Hello everyone,

One of our user is facing issue with display settings. All of his icons are appearing on extended display.

1. We checked the display properties and set the extended display as main display and rolled back.
2. Cleared the iconcache (IconCache.db) under the folder AppData.
3. Disabled the Auto arrange icons and enabled it back again,
4. All the drivers along with BIOS are up to date on the system.
Still the issue is not getting resolved.
Don't want to move the icons manually and leave one item behing.
Please suggest any permanent fix for this issue.

Thanks,
Pramod.

3. How to Disable Display Driver Auto Update Permanently(100%) in Windows11

We need support regarding “Disable Display Driver Auto Update Permanently”. Below are some details.

System Details:

Windows VersionWindows 11 Pro - 22H2

OS Build22621.2428

Processer12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700 2.10 GHz

ModelXPS8950

Below are steps we did to avoid display driver auto-update.

• Navigate Windows Update Advanced options and Turn off All Updates option

• Win+R to open Run dialog (administrator)
• Open: services.msc
• Double click Windows Update service to open properties
• Click Stop to halt the service.
• Select Start type: Disabled Click Apply
• Click the Log On tab
• Select Log on as: This account: .\Guest
• Leave password blank
• Click Apply
• Click the Recovery tab
• Select Take No Action in all failure list
• Click Apply and Ok

Note : The above setting was automatically reverted to its original state. We want to disable Windows update as stable.

• Go to Task Manager run new task
• Type gpedit.msc and check Create this task with administrative privileges. Click OK

• Navigate Local Computer Policy --> Computer Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> All settings
• Configure Automatic Updates – Disabled
• Do not include drivers with Windows Updates – Enabled

• Navigate Local Computer Policy --> User Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> All settings
• Remove access to use all Windows Update Features – Enabled
• Taskbar Settings --> System --> About advanced system settings click Hardware tab click Device Installation Settings choose No (your device might not work as expected)

Regarding this scenario, please provide your prominent support. Kindly mention any add-on steps to disable Display Driver Auto Update Permanently(100%).

4. how to disable extended display permanently but duplicate display permanently

Windows 10 will extend display but won't duplicate

Trying top duplicate screen to Vizio TV through a HDMI cable. It will perform 2 of the 4 options properly(display to Laptop Only, display to TV only, extend the display between both, duplicate display on both) Results of each:

1. Display to Laptop ONLY: Works fine

2. Display to TV ONLY: Works fine

3. Duplicate the display on both: I get "No Signal" on the TV

4. Extend the display between both: works fine
