Windows 10: Black screen displayed in a short time when switching display mode from extend to duplicate...

I have 2 monitors with extend mode, the main monitor run a desktop app. When app used SetDisplayConfig to change display mode to duplicate, the black screen displayed in about 5 seconds and then it showed correct. I don't know why this occurred. Can help to eliminate that black screen? Thanks.

Duplicate to extend multiple display control.

When I switch from duplicate to extend with multiple displays, how can I control which screen automatically shows what was previously on the duplicated screen?

 

No Signal on the extended display

OS: Windows 10
Display: Philips 245E
Details:

• connection - HDMI
  
• it was working before, but nothing has changed, after a few days of being turned off just stopped working
  
• display is detected by the laptop, I can see it in Display settings. But "no signal" on the actual display.

I am 100% sure that this is a software issue with Windows.

What have I tried:

• plugin another laptop to my display - it worked. The display is working fine with other laptops
  
• plugin another display to my laptop - it worked. I tried to connect my laptop to a TV using the same HDMI port - it worked
  
• switch HDMI cables - no result. HDMI cables seem to be fine
  
• reinstall display, and video adapter drivers - no result
  
• tried different modes ( extend, duplicate, only pc, only extended ) - the same situation in all modes, display is detected but "no signal"
  
• I have booted from a USB stick (Ubuntu) and the display worked without any issues
  

 

Not being able to extend displays only duplicate displays via HDMI

Hello I'll make this short and sweet, I just can't seem to find a solution to this and it's happening to more users in the office. Out of the blue the HDMI to the LG TV's arent working from Dell 7480,7400 laptops, running windows 10 When plugging in the HDMI cable the laptop screen goes blank and the TV doesnt pick it up. fn+f8 and select duplicate (while screen is black) brings up the laptop and duplicates to the TV. Selecting Extend turns the TV back to the screensaver and nothing changes on the laptop. Troubleshooting: All cables have been checked but it happens in multiple meeting rooms, equipment is in perfect working order, HDMI's, TV's etc. I have done all updates on affected devices. Uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers related to the graphics card. Configured all correct resolutions in both display settings as well as the Intel Graphics panel. I can arrange the screens in both the settings tabs but when I 'apply', it goes blank and only works in Duplicate. This has happened with multiple devices now, I have done some reading and read something about a poossible bug at the moment? I can't crack this. The issue seems to be coming from the HDMI port as if I plug the laptop into a docking station I can extend to the monitors just fine, but cant extend from HDMI pot. Any other suggestions?
