Hide taskbar labels - Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

You may try the steps listed below and check if it works:

    • Right click a blank area on the taskbar and choose
      Taskbar Settings.

    • Under Combine Taskbar Buttons, choose
      Always, hide labels.

    • Exit Settings.

You may also go through How to use the taskbar
    for further help.

    Hope it helps.

Option to UNGROUP the buttons, but HIDE the labels in the taskbar

Hello everyone! So far, we don't have an option in the Windows 11 taskbar settings to UNGROUP the buttons, but HIDE the labels in the taskbar, only to ungroup AND show labels. I don't understand why Microsoft does this kind of thing. First, they remove something important, then they add only half an option. Combining buttons is TERRIBLE, and displaying these giant labels filling the taskbar is also terrible. Why can't we have the best of both worlds? I wonder if anyone knows of any way to do this. I tried changing the 'TaskbarShowLabels' registry value to 0, but it seems like it doesn't work anymore. Thanks!

    Taskbar Preview not showing

Hi Richard! Here's what caught my attention. What do you think??

    • Always, hide labels. This is the default setting. Each app appears as a single, unlabeled button, even when multiple windows for that app are open.
    • When taskbar is full. This setting shows each window as an individual, labeled button. When the taskbar becomes crowded, apps with multiple open windows collapse into a single app button. Tap or click the button to see a list of the
      windows that are open.
    • Never. This setting shows each window as an individual, labeled button and never combines them, no matter how many windows are open. As more apps and windows open, buttons get smaller, and eventually the buttons will scroll.
PS Hey Richard! Do you really think anyone here on the MS forum notices or cares how hard we try to help members with W10 problems. I don't think they do. LMAO!
