Windows 10: Storage Spaces 63/64 TB max size. Pool or space?

I'm building a 24 bay media server. I'm running widows 11. So, 63 TB max size is that the pool size max? Or the Storage Space size Volume?My back plane is divided into 6 planes. Each with 4 drive bays. So, I'm thinking two way mirror.4 drive pool, 4 drive Storage Space.So, if the max space is 63 TB per space. Usable space? then 4 20 TB Drives would give me 60 TB usable out of the 80 TB.Then repeat that on the other planes. For a total of 6 pools, 6 storage spaces. Total usable 360 TB.Am I correct on the way it works?

Unable to increase size of storage space

I understand that you are experiencing problems with the storage space not changing, you can try the following:

Search for PowerShell in the Start menu and select "Run as administrator"

You can list all storage pools and their associated storage using the following command

Check the size of the storage pool and how much space is allocated. This information can help you determine how much storage space you can expand.

You can use the following command to view the details of a specific storage pool (replace "YourStoragePoolName" with the actual name of the pool):

After determining how much storage you want to expand, use the Resize-VirtualDisk cmdlet. replace "YourStorageSpaceName" with the name of the storage space and specify the new size. For example, to resize a storage space named "MyStorageSpace" to 3TB, use the

Note: Ensure that the specified size is not larger than the available space in the storage pool.



Verify the changes. After resizing, you can verify that the size of the storage space has been updated using the same command you used in step 2.

Remember to back up any important data before changing the storage configuration to avoid data loss.

Storage Spaces capacity error

Hi,

I am using Storage spaces in Raid 5 (parity).

Storages spaces is telling me that my capacity is full and I need to add more drives. However, in 'This Pc' (my computer) it is telling me I still have over 7.5 tb available?

I have checked the data in my pool and it confirms that i should still have 7.5tb available.

Why is storages spaces telling me otherwise? Is it wrong? Is it malfunctioning? Have I done something wrong?? Can i correct this???

Details:

OS - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

8x 3tb WD Green harddrives (data) - Raid 5 (parity)

1x 120gb Kingston SSD (OS)

Storage spaces indicating:

Pool capacity 21.8 tb

Using 21.5 tb

This Pc indicating:

Capacity 21.7 tb

Used 14.2 tb

Free 7.51 tb

I have checked the size of the data in the pool and it is matches with what 'This Pc' is reporting. Why is Storage spaces saying otherwise?

You don't show a screenshot, so I am uncertain to which part of the process of creating a storage space you are referring. I pointed you to the tutorials. I now provide you with a screenshot of part of one of them, which shows a warning which might be what you are referring to.





Your question about double storage / redundancy appears to relate to the normal operation of storage spaces once configured, so seems obscure.

My impression is that few here have used storage spaces.
