    My significant other and I have individual laptops. When I change my mouse setting to right hand click, her's also changes. Can someone explain what and why this is happening and how to fix it. It seems like a sync issue but I don't know how to address it.

    Hi Zbigniew,

    I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
      Enter.
    • Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
    • Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.

    Hi Ray,

    Follow the steps below to change the settings of your mouse:

    • Press Win+R on your keyboard.
    • Type main.cpl on press Enter.
    • A small window for your mouse settings will appear.

    How to change the Mouse settings in Windows 10

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below

    • Go to System tray
    • Click on All settings
    • Select Devices
    • Click on mouse and select additional mouse settings there you can change the setting.


    If the issue persists you need to perform clean boot and check program is causing the issue.

    Perform clean boot

    Check if the issue persists, in safe mode.

    If the issue does not persist in safe mode, then perform a clean boot to from safe mode to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.
