Windows 10: Installing the ssd from my old laptop in my new laptop I need to enter my bitlocker key...

I've installed my ssd from my old laptop into my new one, which has two slots. I inserted the old ssd into the slot the new one had been installed in and moved the new one into the other slot. But I can't get the laptop to boot from the ssd from my old laptop, and every time I boot up the laptop I need to enter the bitlocker recovery key in order to access the data on it. How can I set the ssd to permanently allow access, and boot from that drive?

Old Laptop shows up on devices list but has no BitLock key

My old laptop got fried in an electrical surge and died, it can't be turned on. The BitLock key is required to recover what was on it, which wasn't backed up anywhere, but it doesn't exist. The laptop's decription appears on the devices list in my microsoft account, but not on the BitLock list. The old laptop was a Windows 10. What can I do?

 

Install new M2 SSD in laptop

Hello, decided to upgrade my laptops SSD. I physically installed a new M.2 SSD on my laptop on the only slot there is or where the old one was. I have a windows installation media in a USB and when I boot up the laptop, the windows install screen comes up but when I get to the screen where you select the drive, the new SSD is not listed. Anyone have any ideas what to do to get the new SSD to appear?

@Paul0o0o0 Putting the old SSD in the new laptop, as storage, should be fine. It should still boot to the new laptop's SSD. If you want to make sure, you can just hit the F12 key when you turn the new laptop on, to enter the "boot menu". From there you can "choose" which SSD you boot from. Once booted into the new laptop, with the old SSD installed, you could just delete C:\bootmgr from the old SSD.
