Windows 10: son's Microsoft Account hacked, now he can't remove it from Windows 11 account

Hi, My son got his Microsoft account compromised and a hacker changed the primary email address. Microsoft said they could change the password back with a thirty-day wait but two weeks later they abruptly canceled the process and to rub salt in the wound, they locked his account altogether.His Windows 11 account is still signed into that compromised account and we can't seem to sign out of it the option to do so doesn't appear in his Account settings. I just need to remove this old account and point his Windows 11 account to a new Microsoft account that we just created.Thanks in advance,Jeff

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

my sons account has been hacked

my sons account has been hacked and they have changed his email so when trying reset the password its telling us that no account with that email. phoning Microsoft the automated message tells us support has moved online following that link and then typing in my sons email comes back with there is no Microsoft account that that name.

This is ridiculous, kinda a catch 22 situation, cannot log in to get support, cannot phone someone to get support

Anyone have any suggestions?
