Windows 10: Why cant i update my game when i have storage?

The problem is that I need storage for an update in a game it says missing 46 GB when in reality, even though my local disks storage is already full, i have a second storage place. my tb1, which still has about 304 GB of space left so i dont understand why I cant update my game. I tried changing where new content is saved to my tb1 but it still didnt work. Can you guys help me with this so that i can update my game?
