Windows 10: Search bar not searching apps

Search bar is now a default 'Microsoft Bing' bar Yes, the web browser nobody asked for or wants yet MS likes to shove down our throats. For example at per attachment, if I type in Paint, the select Apps, it still doesn't open the Paint app. I have to manually find it the long way. The bar used to open it directly. Is there a quicker way to find apps? The Windows icon and the Search bar are both Microsoft Bing search bars. I've tried previous posts to rectify the issue but cannot find a solution. Any help is super appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Honestly, my best results searching for stuff here is to go to googlebing, search for "xxxxxx TPU" with xxxx being replaced by your keywords.

I did find some Steam discussions on it:

If you meant the Cortana search bar, review the suggested solutions on these threads:

• Can't type in Windows 10 search bar.
• Can't type anything in Win 10 Apps (Cortana, Search, Calculator, Feedback, etc.)

Search Bar/Cortana

Thank you for posting your concern here in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 family.

From the description, I understand that you are still receiving the pop up notifications, despite having disabled the search functionality in windows 10.

Steps to disable the Search Bar

• Right click on the task bar.
• Select the "Search" option.
• Select "Disable."

However, if the above steps don't work out, perform the below suggested steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Open a CMD window started as Administrator.

Repair corruption: Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.

Run this command next: Sfc /scannow

Now run these two commands:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
