Windows 10: Xbox series S/X controller not recognized by games Win11

Hello,I recently purchased two Xbox series S/X wireless controllers and unfortunatelly, while they seem to be working, they are pretty useless:- when I connect them using an Xbox Wireless Adapter, they connect, they are recognized by the Xbox Accessories app and by the Game Bar and all inputs are working preoperly, but no games recognize them at all, whether from GOG or Steam if it is important, it's an older wireless adapter, I also own two Xbox One controllers, one of them stopped working and hence the decision to get new ones- when I connect them with Bluetooth, they connect, they show

I bought an xbox series x controller (not xbox one) from someone who had an elite and don't need the new controller. I'm sure it's authentic. I can connect it to my windows 10 pc via bluetooth and it appears as an xbox wireless controller.

However in all games it is not recognized as an xbox controller but a generic bluetooth "18 (don't remember the exact number) button controller with HAT" or something. And it doesn't work in any of my games.

Is this a known issue or did I do something wrong? It feels like either the controller is so new windows doesn't know it yet, or I'm missing a driver software, or games need to specifically support it. Anyone has similar experience? Thank you!

The Bluetooth steps I gave were only in case you need them. The actual repair steps for your controller were the first links I gave. Have you started on them yet? Please do not skip any steps. We often find out later that the fix was the skipped step.
