Windows 10: Secondary Drive not showing up as a separate disk but under the primary disk

Hi All, I have a Dell G3 3500 laptop. I am trying to initialize my secondary WD 1TB SSD SA510 drive in addition to my M2 256GB SSD primary drive pre installed when laptop was bought where the OS is installed but I am running into issues. My secondary drive is showing under the primary disk 0 instead of a separate disk. My secondary drive storage is showing up as partitions as part of the primary disk. I have switched from RAID on to AHCI mode in efforts to have it recognized but to no effect. I had to do this in safe mode as i was getting boot up errors initially. I cannot start the initiali

Disk Management

Hi Keith,

Thanks for providing the detail that was requested previously. Since the disk management screen that you saw is showing greyed out options, we suggest that you follow the steps below to change the partition type of your internal drive:

• Open Disk Management then right click the partition on the disk you want to covert and select Delete Volume.
• Once you complete the process you will see the whole disk shown as two separate unallocated spaces. Right-click the disk and select Convert to GPT disk.

After the conversion, you will be able to use the whole disk and then you can create new separate partitions.

How to swap letters between disk drives (Primary and secondary drive)?

Hello. I need some help with my windows and drives. In total I have now 3 drives. C:, B:, and E:. The B: drive is the one I installed today. It is an M.2 4TB SSD. After I installed it, I created a GPT partition which worked fine. I then used AOMEI Backupper, to copy all the files from my primary C: (SSD) to the new M.2 B: SSD. This was a success aswell. Now my problem is, I want to exchange the letters between B: and C:. So that I can use my M.2. SSD as C: and my primary drive. How can I change the disk drive letters? (Disk Management won't let me do that obviously because you can't change the disk drive letter of your primary drive that you are running on, otherwise things get messy). I tried using WinPE and diskpart. But when I use "list volume", My B: drive is not even listed. Anyone knows what I could do? __***IN SHORT:***__ I want to switch from my 2.5 SSD (C to my M.2 SSD (B as a primary driver and swap the letters of the two drives C: and B:. I hope I could articulate my problem clearly

There is something wrong with that drive, it should not show as 4 separate disks after converting it to GPT.

Open Device Manager, then expand the Disk Drives section, please provide a screenshot of that window
