Good evening, I received a significant number of emails stating my main account and some on backup account have been locked due to something about content I have submitted an appeal On grounds of being hacked and/or my phone not being in my possession for 36 hours However the first form was not filled out correctly and the second is more clear on its purpose I’ve had between. 30-50 attempts around d the world for years now to try and gain access to my Microsoft account Now it seems likely they succeeded, all though I wasn’t even at home on the times this ‘violation’ was said to occur Im potent

Hello everyone,

I am facing a challenging issue that I hope someone can help me with. Recently, there was a Windows update that seems to have disabled a login option(pin) that I used to rely on. To make matters worse, I've unfortunately forgotten the password for my user account.

I attempted to use the backup recovery method, which is to receive a verification code on my phone. However, I am not receiving any codes, and I have verified that my phone can receive other messages, so it seems like the issue is specifically with the Microsoft account recovery process.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to regain access to my account without losing any data? I would appreciate any assistance you can provide.

How to regain access to local account logon process when Microsoft account is locked

Folks,

We need urgent help to enable my friend (non technical) to bypass the Microsoft account logon process since he has lost access to his Microsoft Account and the PC is now inaccessible to him.

In summary

Laptop was accidentally configured to logo on via MS account (Hotmail) instead of local account (MS tricked us to do so)

New MS account was created as part of this process but the password is not accepted

MS Online password reset process and MS support cannot help us because we don't have enough info (the fact that it is a new account which was never used is not taken into account)

We don't want to crack MS security to gain access to an Hotmail account we want to regain access to our own PC via the local account

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Let me share with you a nightmare story re locked Microsoft account (i am sure our story is not unique).

My friend's PC was upgraded to Win 10 without his knowledge or approval (MS changed upgrade process which now tricks people to upgrade their OS without their knowledge or approval).

Following this upgrade he found some issues. Trying to fix one of the issues resulted in him creating a new Microsoft Hotmail account (the issue he was trying to fix relates to sending mail so it made sense that he would need to configure windows to know
from which account to send).

Having created this account and upon rebooting his laptop he now found that he can't logon to the unit because it is now configured to logon using his new Hotmail account and not his usual local account.

His password credentials were not accepted so he is now locked out of his computer.

Attempting to reset the password using the usual online form failed since he could not answer most of the standard questions because they were not applicable (there is no option to say "Not Applicable").

e.g he was asked to identify the titles (subject) of any emails he sent from that new account and the email address of any recipients of such emails. He was also asked to describe any folders he may have created in the new account.

Needless to say he cannot provide such info because he never logged onto that account and as such never sent anything from it etc

We also tried to reset the account password via a phone callback (he only registered the landline phone number so could not request that security code be sent to as a text message) but as we live in Australia this process didn't work. (I eventually found
out that this service is not available in Australia)

Eventually we managed to get access to the Microsoft support line and were now "chatting" to a human via emails.

This experience turned out to be most frustrating because all they (there were 5 different individuals) can offer is a suggestion to go back to the online form and try again and add more information (even though we tried to explain each time that the account
has never been used and as such we cannot add such information).

We tried the automated online process one more time only to be told that this process is now locked to us and it was suggested that as an alternative we should create a new account into which all our contacts etc can be copied from the old account.

This option is of no value to us for we have no interest in the old account data etc (it has none) but we are in need to find a way to regain access to the old local account logon process to which my friend has the password (assuming the local account was
not deleted by Microsoft when it reconfigured the unit to log via Microsoft account)

Can any of you advise us how to regain access to our PC (i assume we can always rebuild it but that would mean that my friend would lose precious data)
