My apps installed from Microsoft store show a blank white file icon instead of the original app icon.All the apps works fine, But not seeing the app icon is annoying and I have to read the actual title to know which app is which.Please help me to restore the app icons.I tried repairing and reseting the apps from settings.

Desktop chrome shortcut icons turned into blank papers!!!

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

1. Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor issues with icons.
   
2. Rebuild the icon cache: The icon cache is a database that stores the icons for all the files and programs on your computer. If the cache becomes corrupted, it can cause issues with icons. To rebuild the icon cache, follow these steps:
   
   • Open File Explorer and navigate to the following folder: C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local
     
   • Locate the "IconCache.db" file and delete it (you may need to enable the option to show hidden files and folders in File Explorer settings).
     
   • Restart your computer.
     
3. Reset Chrome shortcuts: If the issue persists only with Chrome shortcuts, you can try resetting them by following these steps:
   
   • Right-click on the blank paper icon and select "Properties."
     
   • In the Properties window, click on the "Shortcut" tab.
     
   • Click on the "Change Icon" button.
     
   • In the "Change Icon" window, click on the "Restore Defaults" button.
     
   • Click "OK" to save the changes.

White blank icons on desktop and in program tree.

I am having the same issue but also with Microsoft apps. The icon is blank. I wanted to put icons from the Start Menu onto the desktop for easy access and some apps have blank white icons. The icons work, but there is no image. Apps with blank icons
include OneNote, Groove Music, Photos, Camera, Fresh Paint, Movies&TV, Twitter, Phone Companion, and OneDrive. These are actually ALL Microsoft apps. Please help.

I have this problem sometimes. It seems the icon cache database is corrupted for some reasons. I use the following steps to restore all white blank icons.

1. Start command prompt (WindowKey + R, type cmd)

2. In command prompt type "cd %userprofile%\appdata\local"

3. In command prompt type "del iconcache.db /a"

4. Start taskmanager (WindowKey + R, type taskmgr)

5. Find Windows Explorer and Right click | End Task

6. In taskmanager select File | New Task then type explorer

You should now fix all white blank icons on desktop.
