Windows 10: the network systray icon has vanished. windows 11 current.

The network systray icon is missing. since updating to Windows 11, version 24H2 2 days ago.Things I've tried,Win R shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9} menus locked out.new Settings/personalisation/taskbar settings/ network icons not featured anywhere here? GPedit.msc nothings enabled or defined here.

Desktop Icons vanished

Just to elaborate what Berton has told you..........that you are on Tablet Mode.
If it is what Berton has suggested, you can have your desktop back. Follow steps below................
Bottom right next to Time, there is a notification icon > click it > click Tablet mode.
You should have your desktop back.

Computers Vanished From File Explorer But Network Still Works

I agree with @Try3. I have tried every suggested method to fix Windows networking suggested on these forums. All at best only worked for a short time. The only things that helped was:

1. Batch file I suggested in an earlier post
2. Creating shortcuts to computers on my home network

Note these two things are not fixes but workaround. However, at least they help and have never failed. I have shortcuts set up for eight computers on my home network. I have created a folder on my desktop called My Network to hold the shortcuts. They have a mix of the following operating systems:

• Windows 10 - 4
• Windows 7 - 3
• Windows XP - 1

 

How to get the Windows Security icon to show in Systray?

Some of my Windows 11 computers show the Windows Security icon in the Systray and other don't. How do I get it to appear in the Systray?
