Windows 10: Logitech Keyboard Unresponsive, But Mouse is Still Working

I was attempting to change the batteries on my Logitech Keyboard; not sure what model unfortunately, I didn't buy it. When I put in the new batteries and flipped the on switch on the keyboard to use it, it didn't respond. I was using it not even 10 minutes before the issue, so I'm not sure what happened. I've taken the batteries out and put them back in, turned the keyboard off and on multiple times, and removed the USB from the computer and replugged it. I'm not sure what else to do as I'm not good with technology. Is there anything I missed or should try?

Logitech mouse and Keyboard issues

According to Logitech you can. Just pick one and try. If you use the one from the keyboard use SetPoint. If you use the one from the mouse use Options.

Note when you are ready to pair a device turn it off and then back on in order for the Unifying receiver to see it.

Using Unifying receiver from K800

Plug in Unifying receiver for K800

Unplug Unifying receiver for MX Master

Assumed K800 already paired to its Unifying receiver

Plug wired mouse into computer

Run SetPoint and navigate to Unifying software

Pair MX Master

Unplug wired mouse

Using Unifying receiver from MX Master

Plug in Unifying receiver for MX Master

Unplug Unifying receiver for K800

Assumed MX Master already paired to its Unifying receiver

Plug wired keyboard into computer

Run Options and navigate to Unifying software

Pair K800

Unplug wired keyboard

Thank you as well. I have no owned a corded mouse in 15 years or since they had wireless mice. Can I do the steps backwards, meaning do the keyboard first rather than the mouse since I will need a working mouse to do all this?

Logitech mouse and Keyboard issues

I have using Logitech mice and keyboards for over 20 years. SetPoint has been around for a long time. Options is more recent. That is probably why you see a mixture of both sometimes. Which one you use depends upon which mouse or keyboard you buy.

If I were you I would install both SetPoint and Options. Don't worry about installing the unifying software. Installing SetPoint or Options should take care of that.

Plug in the unifying receiver for the keyboard. Turn on the keyboard. It should be paired to its unifying receiver.

Do NOT plug in the unifying receiver for the mouse. Also, do NOT turn on the wireless mouse yet.

Plug in the wired mouse.

Run SetPoint and navigate to the Unifying menu.

Turn on the wireless mouse.

Once it shows up select it and then select Pair.

The mouse should be ready to use.

Unplug the wired mouse.

You check the status of the keyboard and its battery with SetPoint. You check the status of the mouse and its battery with Options.

You can get to the Unifying software from either SetPoint or Options.

SetPoint is accessible in the tray. To run Options I just go to the Start search box and search for Options. When it finds it select it.

The following shows why I install both SetPoint and Options. SetPoint is used to configure the keyboard. Options is used to configure the mouse.

Everything worked perfect and now I have both he mouse and keyboard on one receiver !! *Biggrin with Setpoint I can control both the mouse and keyboard settings. when I opened Logitech Options I got a message saying that Options doesn't support all devices on my computer. Since I can control both the mouse and keyboard settings in Setpoint I deleted Options.

Now hopefully everything will work much better, I thank you and everyone else who replied to this thread, I'm glad to have this solved after all this time.

Logitech mouse and Keyboard issues

Logitech K800 keyboard
* Your K800 Unifying USB receiver can be connected to up to six Unifying Logitech mice and keyboards.
* Software: Logitech SetPoint

Logitech MX Master
* You can connect your mouse to up to three devices at the same time. You can use either Bluetooth Smart or the Logitech Unifying receiver that comes with the mouse.
* Software: Logitech Options

The Unifying receivers are subject to interference. If you have more than one separate them if possible.

My keyboard suffered from interference. After I moved the Unifying receiver to a USB 2.0 port on the back of the computer the keyboard worked a lot better.

You can launch the Unifying software from either SetPoint or Options. I will show this with what I have.

I have the following: Logitech MK550 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo

K350 Keyboard (uses SetPoint)

M510 Mouse (uses Options)

Using Logitech SetPoint

1. Select

2. Select Open Unifying Software

3. Select Advanced

4. Select Pair a New Device to add a mouse or keyboard

Using Logitech Options

2. Select Advanced Unifying App
