    HDMI to VGA male to female not staying connected


    Hello,I've recently had a work laptop upgrade and allowed to keep the old laptop for the time being. Both laptops run Windows 11 and when working at home, I have the monitor cable plugged into the old laptop, however, the new one doesn't have a VGA port so I purchased a HDMI adaptor male to female: HMDI end plugs into the new laptop port with the VGA cable connected to said adaptor, it recognises the monitor for so long and then disconnects. My old laptop, although it has the VGA port, it also has a HDMI port, so I've tried that method to see if it's the adaptor but it works and functions pe

    HDMI adapters---- lack of small females?

    Thanks for the suggestions but are they the right size? They are not referred to as mini femail are they? They are Standard are they not? I find scores of these or similar -----

    ''HDMI female to mini HDMI type C male adapter converter'' which are not mini size, they will not connect to my mini HDMI cable. If they do not state mini for the female connector they are standard size, the assumed default as with USB connectors. If you know otherwise please let me know.
