Windows 10: Windows can't connect to internet, troubleshooting option fails

Yesterday my laptop downloaded and installed KB5058499 and ever since, internet hasn't worked at all.Laptop is Asus Tuf Advantage, A16 with 7735HS CPU and 7600S GPU, 16GB RAM and 2x2TB SSD. Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 OS build 26100.4202 and Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.107.0I have tried connecting to wifi and wired ethernet, sometimes it reports it's unable to connect to DHCP server and sometimes it says connected but I can't do anything, not even access 192.168.1.1 the router address. I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet connection. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your internet.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key + X Key, select
  Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Internet Connection troubleshooter

Since you are able to connect to the internet wirelessly it is just the wires connection which has issues.

It could be either wire which has problems or Ethernet port.

Before you change either of these I suggest you to try the following steps:

Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

a. In search Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the search box and hit Enter.

c. Select “View all” option from the left panel.

d. Select “Internet Connections” from the list and follow On-screen instructions.
