  1. My win7 pro license can’t use to upgrade to win 11 pro

I am writing to seek assistance with an activation issue for my Windows 11 Pro installation. I recently performed a full PC reset, and now my Windows 11 Pro is unactivated.Previously, I successfully upgraded this machine from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and then subsequently to Windows 11 Pro. During this upgrade path, a digital license for Windows 11 Pro was established and tied to my PC's hardware. The current issue arose after the PC reset. During the setup process, I configured my user accounts as local accounts, and therefore, they are not currently linked to my personal Microsoft account. I

  2. Free upgrade from Windows 11 Home to 11 Pro using 10 Pro retail license

My current computer has an activated Windows 10 Pro retail license. I'm planning to replace my current computer by buying a new computer that comes preinstalled with Windows 11 Home, and then I understand I can use my 10 Pro license to upgrade to 11 Pro for free.

What's the most straightforward way of accomplishing this? The obvious approach that comes to mind involves two steps:

    1. Reinstall Windows 10 Pro on new computer and activate with my existing retail license.
    2. Upgrade new computer to 11 Pro for free through the settings.
Is there a simpler way of doing this without having to reinstall Windows 10? For example, would it be possible to somehow "trade in" my Windows 10 Pro license for 11 Pro? I'm fairly new to Windows licensing and am just trying to understand what is possible/best practice, with minimal effort.

Activation Issues with Digital License (Win 10 Home OEM -> Win 10 Pro -> Win 11 Pro -> Win 10 Pro -> Hardware Change)

I have a Dell Latitude 5401 laptop which came with Windows 10 Home OEM. I have upgraded from Windows 10 Home OEM to Windows 10 Pro and digital license is connected to my outlook id (t****@outlook.com).

At a later date, I have upgraded from windows 10 pro to windows 11 pro. Eventually my license also upgraded to windows 11 pro and digital license is connected to my outlook id (t****@outlook.com).

After 2/3 days, I have rolled back to windows 10 pro as I am not happy with windows 11 pro.

Today, motherboard on the laptop has been changed and I am not able to activate windows 10 pro as digital license of windows 11 pro is connected to my outlook id (t****@outlook.com) and my laptop is on windows 10 pro.

Please advise how to activate windows 10 pro operating system. Thanks.

How To Upgrade Win 11 Home to Win 11 Pro w/ M365 E3 Subscription

I recently purchased a new laptop, and it came with Win 11 Home. I wouldn't normally buy a new machine with the Home edition, however, I knew my M365 E3 subscription includes Win 10/11 Pro, so I thought I'd be able to upgrade it. No so, at least not yet.

My impression was once I register the laptop using my E3 account, I would then have the option to upgrade to Pro, but that doesn't seem to be possible for me. Admittedly, I'm very likely missing something obvious, but I do need help.

Here's the Trouble (and some add'l notes): I've tried everything I can think of to make this happen and I've read countless Microsoft Docs and community questions, but I continue to hit dead end after dead end.

    Notes

    • Added work account (E3) account in Settings and ensure the laptop is registered in Azure AD.
    • Intune doesn't see the device and when I attempt to sync it with my domain, I receive an error which states, "The sync could not be initiated (0x80190190 Bad Request (400)". I feel like I'm missing a URL in a policy or need to create a policy, but I genuinely don't know.
    • I created a Win 11 Pro install w/ a flash drive. Went through the process to upgrade, but never saw what I expected to see (request to authenticate w/ 365 account).

Does anyone have step-by-step instructions to:

    1. Ensure I've done all the prerequisite steps in my tenant (registered with domain, managed by Intune if that's necessary, anything else).
    2. Upgrade it from Win 11 Home to Win 11 Pro using my E3 subscription.

All I want to do is upgrade it to Pro so I can join it to my Azure AD domain. I don't want to buy a Pro license since I'm already paying for it. That's all.

Please help. My win7 pro license can’t use to upgrade to win 11 pro :)
