    How to fix laptop after microsoft update broke it.


    When I started my laptop up on friday it started up slowly and had run yet another update... As soon as it started up everything was gone its like it uploaded a new windows. There was no windows old file to recover my data from. I then restarted my laptop yet again it started updating, it started up and I tried to do n system recovery wich ran for hours. Then it rebooted and started up to my login screen, I entered my password and ended up with a black screen. I tried the bitlocker automatic repair way, but still ended up with a black screen. Is microsoft aware of how they are messing up expen

    Here is a tip is you cant fix it, make it noticeable that you broke it...step on it *Wink How to fix laptop after microsoft update broke it. ;) "Oh my gawd, did i step on your lil ol laptop, im terribly sorry" Then she has no choice but to buy a new one.

    Anyone use Microsoft Update on XP SP3 in the last few days?

    90% sure Microsoft got it fixed. Microsoft Update is working again. *Big Grin How to fix laptop after microsoft update broke it. :D

    Edit: 100% sure it is fixed. Installing Windows Genuine Advantage previously forced Windows Update to Microsoft Update which was broke. I just had a computer run it and subsequently get updates from Microsoft Update without problems.
