Windows 10: I got S mode of my windows 11 acer laptop yesterday but it magicly came back and I cant get...

So for context I got my new laptop yesterday and got rid of s mode but today it magicly came back and I cant get rid of it: it is just saying "Working on it" but that has been happening for an hour now. I have tried everything people have been saying and yes I am an administrator and have updated the app store and most other things such as using a different account. I dont know what to do just please help me.Should I just retern it and buy a new one without s mode installed or what?

Acer Laptops :are they crap ?

Acer makes a cheap prodcut period. They user lower end plastics, as well as assembly. (I hate working on Acer laptops)

If budget is an issue then get an acer... though for $50 more you could get a gateway that will smoke the acer in terms of quality.

For a laptop though i would suggest one of the DV7T's from HP or a Business class Toshiba/HP/IBM (not the lenovo branded, the Thinkpads)

 

Tablet Mode for ACER SPIN Laptop

I have an ACER SPIN A3SP14-31PT-32M6 and Windows 11, fully updated.

Before last week I was able to enter tablet mode automatically by folding the screen back. Keyboard on back would deactivate.

Now the keyboard continues to work and if I rest it on anything it puts keystrokes on the screen. In other words, the keyboard is not deactivated.

How do I know if this is a Windows 11 problem or an Acer problem. I seem to feel it's more software driven.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

 

Acer laptop: BIOS update, worth it?

Hello, I own an Acer E5 575G-5622 laptop. Recently bought this machine, it came with 1.12 BIOS version. If I see drivers for my laptop, it also shows me BIOS updates. Currently v1.29 BIOS update is available for this machine.

My question is that is it worth it to upgrade to latest BIOS version? I have read on the internet that it is often very risky to update BIOS as it most probably would lead to corruption of boot loader. If that was the case, why is Acer still shipping BIOS updates for the laptop?

If it is worth to upgrade BIOS, what are the procedures and precautionary steps to take in account?
