Windows 10: Autohide Taskbar - Taskbar does not reappear Windows 11

I've always had my taskbar "autohide", which is great because it frees up that space at the bottom of your screen so you can view apps/brower windows in full-screen without your taskbar and all your open apps showing at the bottom. It used to be that when you move your mouse to the bottom of the screen, the taskbar would reappear and you could switch in between apps/windows easily.Now, however, it does not work. If I have my taskbar set to "autohide", if I have a window full-screen like a browser window, for example and move my mouse to the bottom of the screen, the taskbar does not reappe

chrome + taskbar autohide problem

So i set my taskbar autohide. whenever chrome is in fullscreen, when i hover around the corner, the taskbar wont appear. It works with other browsers....

 

Autohide Taskbar in Desktop Mode

In rare cases, you may be having an issue with Autohide Taskbar in desktop mode when you when you just recently did an upgrade on your PC. Autohide Taskbar Option might have got unchecked during the process. We would suggest you try the following steps to enable
Autohide taskbar and check if it makes any difference.

a. Right-click on the Taskbar.

b. Click on Properties.

c. Put a check mark next to ‘Auto-hide’ the taskbar.

d. Click on Apply and OK.

Update us with the result.

 

Taskbar covers window (not autohide)

for an unknown reason the taskbar now covers the bottom of my windows. I do not want to "autohide taskbar". I never had to set this before and I dont want to now.
The advice given here previously does not work (to stop the process) because the instructions are wrong, the processes it suggests do not exist!
