    Would Microsoft call me if I attempted to change my Hotmail phone number?


    Someone claiming they were from Microsoft called my home phone number from phone #818-642-7878 they claimed that was an official MS phone number inquired if I had attempted to change my phone number associated with my Hotmail account. I was immediately wary and gave no information. Insights anyone?

    How do I edit, in Hotmail, a "company phone" number?

    • I create a new contact on my phone
    • I enter a business name
    • I enter a phone number into the field marked "company phone"
    • I save my changes to my WinLine account
    I then view my new contact in Hotmail Contacts online, and it shows only the contact name. No phone number appears at all. There is no "company phone" field when viewing nor editing contacts in Hotmail Contacts. Bug?

    Would Microsoft call me if I attempted to change my Hotmail phone number?

    My Microsoft profile phone number

    When I logged into Microsoft it asked whether to send a code to my email address or to my phone. The phone number is not my current phone. I have seen multiple postings asking the same question. "How do I change the phone number associated with my account",
    but I have yet to see an answer.

    Can someone provide a straightforward list of steps to do this?

    The category is wrong, but there was no category listed for Microsoft account
