Windows 10: Why does my computer screen only partly go black but still let me do things?

When I am using my computer sometimes the background behind my window goes black and my mouse icon won't move. What confuses me is that the mouse is still there as it still highlights and clicks. Even videos still play. It only lasts a few seconds but it's getting more frequent. My computer is 5 years old

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
