    Windows Explorer left pane arrows won't expand the folder


    Having a strange problem with Windows Explorer. The left panel will no longer expand out the folders when I click on the 'expand' arrow. The app just hangs showing the hour glass . I can click on a folder which will expand on the right pane of the window.Troubleshooting already done:Opened Task Manager and restarted Windows Explorer Cleared Cache, cookies, rebooted the laptop Rebuilt index by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Searching Windows, clicked on Advanced Search Indexer Settings and Rebuild Index. Restarted laptop again.Checked and cleared space in Driv

    Windows Explorer left pane arrows won't expand the folder

    File Explorer expand selected folder in left pane

    I want the left pane folder to open and show subfolders when I click on the filename, instead of having to click the little carat to the left of the folder to get this to happen. Windows 10 version 20H2.
