Windows 10: How to delete MBR partition on external HDD

Some time ago, I created a recovery station on an older HDD. Now I want to use the disk for backup instead and have tried to format it. It turns out that almost 100 GB is not available but still reserved for the MBR sector.I cannot see this partition in disk management, cannot find it in Diskpart, and it seems completely inaccessible.I am not a specialist in disk management and hope someone can help me or recommend a good third-party tool that can assist. I only want a partition where I can store documents, pictures, etc.I appreciate any responses!

How to delete the GUID Partition Table (GPT) on a HDD

I have a Windows 7 PC that has a virus (probably multiple viruses). I'm going to rebuild the PC with Windows 10.

I have removed the HDD from the Windows 7 PC and have it externally attached to a different Windows 10 PC via eSATA.

I have deleted all of the partitions on the external HDD - but, also - I would like to delete the GPT from the HDD also.

How do I delete the GPT from an HDD?

I have googled some references on the internet that suggest using various freeware utilities (e.g. Super Fdisk).

Does Windows 10 have a command that deletes a GPT - perhaps somewhere in the DISKPART command?

I'm thinking if I use DISKPART to convert the GPT to MBR and then convert it back to GPT - I will have effectively deleted the GPT.

Any suggestions?

Setting a Non-MBR External HDD as "ACTIVE"

Hi. Hears the situation. I'm currently running into an issue with setting my NTFS Western Digital 500 gb external USB HDD to "ACTIVE". I am currently modding my Ps2 to play back up games (for which I have legally attended) and in order to format the HDD
using a program called "USBExtreme" (which tricks the Ps2 in to accepting an NTFS HDD in to being read as a FAT file format), I must first have 1 singular "ACTIVE" partition on the HDD.

A) I have attempted to set the single partition on the drive as "ACTIVE" using the Computer Management > Disk Management Tool to little success

B) I have tried the "diskpart" command sequence in command prompt, however it is not suitable for my external HDD partition as it is not an MBR.

C) Last but not least, I have also attempted to use an external program called "MiniTool Partition Wizard" to set the Main partition as "ACTIVE" with out any luck.

Is there any solution?
