  1. Airpods connected to PC, Phone Link blocks audio and mic from being used during calls?

I use phone link on the daily. The only issue I have is...Why can't I use my airpods to make calls? Is this something political between Microsoft and Apple? I also use our native office phone, RingFree, and it works fine using that but if someone calls my cell phone that is connected through phone link and my airpods are in the system tries to use them but I can't hear anyone and the can't hear me, the airpods option is greyed out. The most frustrating part is that the system tries using them and then I have to hit the speaker phone option on my phone and then turn it off to get audio and mic

  2. Airpods are connected, but no audio or mic.

Previously it would say Connected, Voice, Music, but this no longer is the case. The audio does not work.

This is not a problem with my AirPods as it works perfectly fine with other devices.

List of things I've tried that did not solve the problem:

    Removing the device and reconnecting

Trying to connect from sound, when trying to connect to the airpod it would not show up.

    Restarting Bluetooth drivers

Checking and installing updates for the computer.

    Restarting the computer.

My make and model: Lenovo 82SX

  3. Airpods connecting but no audio or really choppy

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to try if your AirPods Pro are connecting but you're experiencing no audio or very choppy audio:

    1. Check the Bluetooth settings on your phone to ensure the Hands-free mode is not enabled. Hands-free mode can often degrade the audio quality and cause intermittent sound.
    2. Try turning off the Hands-free feature on your phone and see if that resolves the issue. You can go to the Bluetooth settings, find the connected AirPods device, and check if there is an option for Hands-free mode.
    3. Check the settings on the AirPods themselves to make sure Hands-free mode is not enabled. Go to iPhone Settings > Bluetooth > Select the AirPods device > Check if there are any Hands-free related options.
    4. Try switching the AirPods connection mode from Hands-free to Stereo. This may help improve the audio quality.
    5. If the issue persists, you can try resetting the AirPods. Place the AirPods back in the charging case and press and hold the button on the back of the case until the indicator light flashes amber, then white. Then reconnect the AirPods.
If the above steps do not resolve the problem, it may be a hardware issue, and you should contact Apple customer support to see if the AirPods need to be repaired.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

  4. Airpods connected to PC, Phone Link blocks audio and mic from being used during calls?

Headset is used in parallel as audio and mic

I updated my drivers lately and started to get problems with my earphones.

So I have been using Airpods Pro 2 for some time and it worked perfectly. Best possible audio, and usage of microphone in calls without any workarounds. After updating it appeared, that

    1. It slowly decides how to use the device. Basically what I see is it connects (i see "Connected" under the device), and after 15 seconds or later appears "Connected audio", so just after that sound can go through earbuds. It was faster, instantaneous basically.
    2. Microphone part doesn't work anymore. Before update it used to be showing "Connected audio, mic", now no mic and no option.

I now can't roll back drivers, i did it several times and nothing changed.

What i see in device manager:

    1. I can see all audio inputs and outputs (including hidden).
      1. Headphones (Airpods Pro) is currently active
      2. Headset (Airpods Pro Hands-Free) is hidden and inactive, but exists

In my understanding they should both be active at the same time for it to be audio and mic simultaneously, but I can't find how to make it work.

Sometimes my device is connected to hands-free and I see "Connected mic". Audio is not stereo and really bad, and i can't reroute it to stereo.

Could I actually do something to do it in some way? Maybe there is some other driver that I need to reinstall or something or I can somehow manually enable both stereo and headset?

To be clear, when I was using earpods before all this I haven't seen Hands-free anywhere, it all felt like I can just use mic not in hands-free mode, like just a headset, or system did it for me, but i didn't experience any audio quality changes.
