Windows 10: Ican not get onto my laptop because my computer is only typing numbers and my pin has letters

I can't get past the login screen because only numbers appear in the pin box. So I can't use any of the many 'helps' I have read. Please can I chat with a human or at keast an AI, please.

Can't type letters in PIN when logging into Windows

Good morning everyone,

my apologies if this question already exists somewhere, I just couldn't find this specific problem.

When I recently tried to log into my computer, I noticed the PIN field wouldn't accept letters anymore. This is weird as typing numbers still works. I eventually managed to log in by using the Windows password option where typing letters and numbers works
perfectly fine. The keyboard can't be the issue cause I'm using it now to type this message and as I said, switching to password option works. The problem literally happened overnight. Unfortunately, I can't remember if Windows was updated before switching
the computer off the previous night.

I then went on to try and change the PIN to all numbers but even that doesn't work as I experience the same problem when being asked for the old PIN. Any suggestions what may cause this issue?

I can't type letters only numbers

I remember my pin but the password has letters but it can only type numbers so I can't type the password full the letters is not working

 

NumLock Turns Letters Into Numbers on Desktop Computer

I had the same problem, it seems that it happens only with several keyboards.
Finally I solved it this way (sorry, but I've got Polish language set):

• Step 1 - Go to keyboard driver properties using Device Manager and select Update driver
  
• Step 2 - Select Browse my computer, then Allow me to choose from drivers list
  
• Step 3 - Uncheck "Show compatible hardware"
  

Now find something like "Standard keyboard device" on the drivers list, install it (click Yes in the compatibility warning window) and check if keyboard is still working.

If so - reboot Your computer and enjoy fixed keyboard without letters turning into numbers.

If not - revert driver back and try another one.
