    My ASUS NVIDIA gaming laptop has been working perfectly fine for some time, until 2 days ago when it started having some major problems, the laptop couldn’t even detect usb devices including my mouse and iPhone.The mouse would show the red light but couldn't work and my iPhone was charging when connected, but iTunes wouldn’t detect it which means that the laptop is sending power. So I tried updating some apps like NVIDIA and used Apple Software Update to try and fix the problem, but they would never even finish the update, instead it’ll be stuck at a certain stage. I tried sfc /scannow and it

    I have tried all the steps provided, however in vain. The external hard drive is not identified at all in any of the the USB ports when connected. The USB ports identify other external Flash drives and devices. However this drive is detected in another laptop
    using Windows 7 OS. Please advise further.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

    As per the description I understand that you are unable to backup Quicken files on the USB flash drive after the latest update.

    Do let us know the following to understand the issue and assist you better:

    • Which was the latest update had been installed on your device?
    • Is the flash drive detected on your operating system?
    • What are the troubleshooting steps you have performed while trying to resolve this issue?
    • Is the flash drive being detected on any other device?

    As a workaround, I suggest you to connect the flash drive to different USB ports and check if it is detected.

    Step 1: I suggest you to Run Hardware troubleshooter as it will help in resolving the issues with hardware and resolve any simple issues found.


    • Press Windows
      key from the keyboard, type Troubleshooting and select it.

    • Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
      Troubleshooting window.

    • Select the Hardware and Device
      options from the list.

    • Click Next to run the
      Hardware and Device
      Troubleshooter.

    Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.


    • Connect to the internet.

    • Press Windows
      key and type updates.

    • Click on Check for updates.

    • Under Windows Updates, click on
      Check for updates.

    • Try to install the updates being shown.
