  1. Why Why Why Can't I move the location of my taskbar anymore?

Force to upgrade to Windows 11 because it was a corporate wide roll-out, just to learn that once again, like with many, many other "upgrades" or "enhancements" Microsoft has one again given and taketh away. No, I do not want to center my task bar icons and truly, IDK who would or why they would want to. I want my task bar at the top of my screen, where it has lived for the last 5-6 years. Other comments/posts regarding this topic have been closed, so I am creating a new one. This is ridiculous. First MS took away the drop/drag feature from the new Outlook this may or may not have changed rece

  2. Taskbar location

    Hi Todd,

Sudden changes in the location of the taskbar can occur due to misconfiguration in Windows settings. But you don't have to worry, you can modify the location where the taskbar will be displayed. Follow these steps to change the location of your taskbar:

    • Right click on your taskbar.
    • Choose Taskbar settings.
    • Look for Taskbar location on screen. The drop-down button under it will let you choose your preferred location for the taskbar.

    Moving the taskbar

    Hi Kim,

You can customize your taskbar to pin your favorite apps to it, move it to where you want to display on your screen, and specify how taskbar buttons group together when you have more than one window open. To address your question, we suggest
that you follow these steps on how to move your taskbar to a different location on the screen:

    • Open Settings and choose Personalization.
    • Select Taskbar.
    • Under Taskbar location on the screen, click the drop-down menu and select
      Bottom.

Keep us posted if you need additional help.

Change the location of taskbar on multiple display Windows 10

    Hello Peter,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Let me answer your query regarding taskbar location on multiple displays.

Do you have multiple monitors connected to the same computer?

Please be informed that right now there is no option to change the location of taskbar to the scenario which you mentioned.

As this is the option you would like to see in windows 10, you may provide your suggestions in the feedback app.

It will be directly referred by our developer’s team for further improvement.

    Follow the steps:

    • Go to Start, enter the phrase Windows Feedback, and then select Windows Feedback.
    • See if someone else has given similar feedback by entering the topic, such as Microsoft Music.
    • If you find similar feedback, select it, add any details, and then select Me too.
    • To narrow your search to a specific category, pick the category that most closely matches your feedback (so it gets to the right people quickly). For example, for feedback about the Music app, select Apps > Music.
    • If you don’t find any similar feedback, select New Feedback, and choose a topic from Select a category and then select a subcategory.
    • Enter your feedback (the more details the better!), add a screenshot if you can, and you're done.
However you may follow the below steps to change the location of the taskbar (changes the location on both the monitors to same place) and check.

    1. Right click on the taskbar and click on properties.

    2. Select the taskbar tab.

    3. In the “Taskbar location on the screen” drop down list you may select your preferred location and click on apply.

Hope the information helps, do reply if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.
