Windows 10: PC has no display and yellow motherboard light on restart, but works fine after shutdown

Hi, I'm experiencing a strange issue with my relatively new PC around 3 months old. Everything works fine overall — the system runs games and applications without any problems. However, when I restart my PC via Start > Restart, it fails to boot properly: I get no display signal on my monitor.The motherboard shows a solid yellow light.The fans ramp up loudly. But if I shut down the PC completely and turn it back on manually, it boots just fine every time. What I've tried so far: Ran sfc /scannow- It found corrupt files and repaired them successfully.Ran DISM /online /cleanup-image /res

Windows 10 fails to restart after shutdown

One of my Windows 10 PC's is running fast ring updates.

Recently I've noticed this annoying behaviour.

During updates the restarts work fine. And the PC restarts from sleep or "full shutdown" (run - cmd -
shutdown /s /t 10 ) fine.

However if I use the Start - Power - Shutdown route then hit the keyboard to restart it I see the following:

BIOS start up sequence;

A distorted Windows logo and turning arrow;

Thereafter the drive activity light continues to flash but there is just a black screen. Nothing else and no response to keyboard (eg ctrl-alt-delete).

If I power down or reset it starts again just fine.

I've been through the suggestions about power and sleep settings, disabled hibernation etc. to no effect.

Any suggestions?

 

My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix

 

yellow vertical line on lumia 640 display

I bought a Lumia 640 about a month back. Since past two days, a fine yellow vertical line about a pixel thick is visible on the display at all times, the line is very light yellow in color and is finely visible on light background. There's no other performance
or heating issues with the phone, everything else is working the way it should be. Its annoying when browsing, watching videos or using most of the apps that has a bright/light background. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Does anyone know what the issue
is or how to fix this? I tried restarting the device, switching it off and on after waiting for a while, nothing seems to work.
