Windows 10: duplicate screens come up for desktop

Because i have dexterity problems, i must be inadvertently tourching something that is duplicated the desktop screen. I am up to four now. what would that be so i can avoid it. it's very annoying. I get desktop 1, then 1, etc. it's accidental. can i disable this feature?

Issue Duplicating Screen

1. What is the make and model of the computer?
   
2. Have you tried connecting
   using different cables?
   
3. Have you tried to duplicating laptop display to TV via HDMI?
   

You may try the below suggested steps to fix the issue.

Method 1: Change screen resolution on PC

1. Go to your desktop, right-click your mouse and go to
   Display Settings.
   
2. On the settings Window, click on “Advanced display settings”.
   
3. From the drop down menu, select the “Recommended” resolution and check the status of the issue.
   

Method 2

Sometimes this issue might occur possible due to faulty drivers. It is required to update the necessary display drivers to fix the issue. Please refer the article

Un-clickable Window on Desktop during full screen

Hi all,

The issue has come back after testing the 'Scale full screen'. The problem still occurs.

Any other suggestions for troubleshooting steps that anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.

1. When you say “stop the duplicating” do you want to extend the screen or do you want to keep only the PC screen?
   
2. What is the version of Windows that you are using currently?

You can choose how you want the desktop to display. You can press the Windows logo key +
P and select an option.

Types of Display Modes in Windows 10 for settings up dual monitors:

• PC screen only - The second screen is ignored and only the main display is used.
• Duplicate - The main display is mirrored on the second screen.
• Extend - The main display is extended across the two screens and allows you to have a desktop that spans two screens or to use Metro on one screen and the desktop on the other.
• Second screen only - The main display will be disabled and only the second screen is used as your new main display.
