Windows 10: BSoD While Gaming. Faulting Thread: ffffb805238760c0

Hello, All.I've been getting system crashes and BSoDs while playing the game Ashes of Creation and getting a Faulting_Thread of ffffb805238760c0 in the dump file.I know full well this game is in a very early Alpha state and is, as such, still very much unstable. But I play this on two machines and my main has zero issues with it. I'm in a large guild with people having machines ranging from Walmart laptops to $5k nuclear subs and I seem to be the only one with this particular issue. The issue has persisted through multiple fresh Windows installs along with fresh drivers for everything, updated

BSOD When playing games

Please share the information requested below:

• Does the BSOD occur while playing a particular game?
• Is the game downloaded from Windows Store?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card drivers by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update.

GTA IV and the dreaded BSOD

One (or more) of the cores in the CPU could be failing. Games can't ever cause a BSOD unless they are dabbling in affairs that they shouldn't be (namely hardware configuration without interfacing via the drivers).


Does the BSOD list a faulting module (e.g. mom.exe, nv4_disp.dll, ccc.exe, etc.)?

 

BSOD - Gaming PC is getting old

From the screencapture image, the 0x9F with parameter 1 =3 suggests the problem is a 3rd party driver. You need to upload the .dmp file so someone can analyse it further to see if they can determine which driver is at fault.
