  1. Legacy Mode CSM automatically enables after restart?

I booted into my InsydeH20 BIOS to see that Legacy Mode is enabled, even though my system is UEFI based and uses GPT, but it still boots and works perfectly without any problems. I disabled it, but restarting reset it to be enabled again. Also, it is enabled in the setup default settings. The CMOS battery is fine, since other options are persistent. Secure Boot is currently off and greyed out. I am using Windows 10 Professional X64 19045 on a HP Notebook 2000 PC.Here is a screenshot of the BIOS:

Pc keeps restarting in the bios after i turned off CSM in order to enable safe boot

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If Windows 10 is installed in Legacy BIOS Mode, then it will not boot up if you disable CSM and enable Secure Boot.

If you re-enable CSM in BIOS can you boot up your system?

If you can, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter.

On the resulting System Information window, on the right hand side, is BIOS Mode listed as UEFI or Legacy?

    laptop doesnt boot automatically

    This is what happened.

    1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
    2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
    3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
    4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
    5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
    6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.

Many thanks to all members who helped to troubleshoot problems.

Legacy Mode CSM automatically enables after restart?

Can't get out of automatic repair mode

You have to enable the CSM in the UEFI interface to enable the legacy boot method. This is the only way you will be able to boot off non-UEFI devices. You'll probably have to turn off secure boot as well.

Also, when selecting the boot order with legacy boot enabled, make sure you aren't putting the UEFI version of the boot device first. The flash drive should show up twice, once with a "UEFI: Flash Drive" and another with the just the flash drive name. You want the one with just the flash drive listed first. If you have "UEFI: Flash Drive" first then it will still try to boot the flash drive in UEFI mode even if you have the legacy boot option enabled.
