  1. HDR settings make people look pasty looking?

Here's a picture of what I am seeing. I am using Nvidia RTX5070ti and windows 11 and my TV is TCL 4k UHD.I have downloaded and used Windows Calibration extension, which was worthless IMO. I have tried playing around with the settings both on TV, in Windows and Nvidia. But I can't get rid of that pasty look. When I turn off HDR in Windows, everything looks fine. Maybe HDR was never meant for videos, just games? If anyone has HDR set up and Nvidia, but it does NOT look like this. Could you please screen shot your settings so I can replicate them?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS5VAi9-f98

  2. HDR vs. typical images - All HDR images look wrong on my non-HDR screen.

Why are screenshots of HDR content all washed out and oddly colored on regular (non-HDR) screens?

I assume there are techniques to map the color spaces, to make them look vaguely similar. I know there are levels of brightness my screen won't reach, and ranges of color... But these look like apples and oranges. Or sun faded pictures vs. brand new pictures.

Attaching an example where the HDR image looks faded and dull. Both are 24bit png images. These look wrong in both Firefox (latest release 100.0.2) and the built in Windows 10 File Explorer thumbnails.

Unless there is a bit missing somewhere, or the wrong color space being applied? These aren't images I've made, but assume they look normal to people with HDR monitors (and it enabled in OS, etc).

Using an Nvidia 1080ti + Acer BE270U (1440p) monitor with a display port cable and latest drivers.

I truly understand you really like enable HDR of your computer. The possible cause why it’s not working maybe your PC and display doesn’t meet certain hardware requirements.

I suggest to update your windows first, please follow the steps below:

    • Start > and then go to Setting > Update & Security > Windows Update

I would recommend the link below and kindly follow the troubleshooting steps in it.

  4. HDR settings make people look pasty looking?

Windows 10 HDR problems in full screen.

    Hello moderator

    1. Its all the games I own that don't support HDR10. Basically when I full screen on a non-HDR game, the screen goes black for a few seconds and HDR gets disabled and all the colors looked washed out (Like its in SDR)

I took 2 screenshots, One is in window mode, the other is in full screen

Windowed mode (HDR on) : imgur.com

Full screen mode (HDR off) : imgur.com

    2. Yes SDR looks washed out. I want to play my games in full screen and in HDR. Playing in windowed mode is a nightmare

    3. I know because the monitor goes black for a few seconds and all the colors look washed out (As shown in the screenshots)

Sadly the fixes did not work HDR settings make people look pasty looking? :(

I updated the GPU drivers via GeForce Experience app.

My Monitor does support 4k HDR10

I tried lower the resolution and the refresh rate but that did not work.

Here is a video of my problem

    YouTube Link :

    Time Stamps :

0:00 HDR mode is on everything looks fine (In the video, when it looks high contrast, that means HDR is on)

0:35 I full screen the game. If you notice the high contrast is no longer there, the colors are washed out

0:46 I disable full screen and HDR mode is back on

*HDR looks high contrast, Ignore that, that's just the video itself.

    Im also using windows 10 64bit 1809
