  1. A question about how storage on OneDrive works

I’ve been having some issues with OneDrive recently. It has been attempting to download EVERYTHING on my PC, something that it physically couldn’t do because I only have 5 gb of space on OneDrive and many hundreds of gigabytes on my PC. This did not stop it, resulting in an infinite loop of OneDrive scanning everything on my PC, returning an error message about space, and then scanning it again, ultimately just burning up processing power and making it impossible to do anything else. So I just desynced it, but then another issue happened. When I did so, every file that it had downloaded vanish

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

  3. OneDrive storage is full

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are having difficulties in uploading the files in OneDrive, which is upgraded to 100 GB.

In this scenario we would suggest you to follow the steps below to reset OneDrive:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run Window.
    2. In the Run Window enter the following: localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset.
    3. Click OK. The OneDrive system tray icon on the desktop should disappear and re-appear after a minute or two.
    4. If the OneDrive system tray icon does not re-appear after a few minutes, do the following. In the Run Window Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe.

If the issue persists, we do have dedicated support team for OneDrive and you can get in touch with them for further assistance. Follow the below steps to contact the OneDrive support team.

onedrive taking up alot of storage windows phone

    Hi,

To isolate the concern, please answer the following questions:

    • Is your phone up-to-date?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • How long has your phone had this issue?
    • Have you tried logging in to OneDrive via Edge or other browser to check if the data is still available? You can compare the used storage from the one you're seeing on OneDrive app.
    • Have you tried to check your phone storage to check how your phone storage space is being used? Go to
      Settings > Storage sense > Phone > Apps + games >
look for OneDrive app, take a screenshot and attach it to your reply.

We're looking forward to your reply.
