Windows 10: Why does my computer show I have 900gb of storage used, but the detailed breakdown only...

Why is my computer Windows 10 saying that my storage is 900 GB out of 1 TB full? I only have some games, and when looking at the detailed breakdown, it shows around 100gb used. I don't have many files, so I do not know what is taking up the storage. It seems like there is something hidden taking up this space, which is prohibiting me from downloading new games since the computer thinks there is no space available.Has anyone else experienced similar issues? How can I resolve this?

Installed apps shows 900GB used

out of disk space.

My installed apps shows 900GB used, but when looking at all the installed apps, the total is only 50GB.

Can't find any app this is taking up that much space.

Anyone else have this issue and how did you solve it (short of formatting/reinstalling Windows)?

Hi Willliam,

The storage settings will usually show you a breakdown of installed apps on your computer.





In addition, this list only shows the raw application size occupied in the drive, not including the cache, data, and temporary files.

Have you checked if this breakdown list actually sums up to what the storage settings have shown you as for the total?

Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:





Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

Suggestions on how to fix this?
