Windows 10: Windows 11 deactivated after BIOS update and CPU change.

Hello, I recently updated BIOS and changed CPU and my windows deactivated.I've tried everything and nothing works. I tried contacting support but they just said that I should buy new key. I don't have windows key, I only had license linked to my microsoft account.Anyone have any ideas? I won't buy new key since everything was fine before updating BIOS and changing CPU.

Windows 11 Pro deactivated after BIOS update

My problem is that Windows 11 Pro deactivated itself after I updated my motherboard (MSI Z790 Carbon Wi-fi) BIOS. I updated it from 7D89v17 to 7D89v18. I haven't done any hardware changes so it should be still active. Troubleshooting doesn't help. I have been using local account so my current device is not listed on my Microsoft account. I also tried to use my Windows 10 Pro OEM activation key in the Change Product key section but it also fails. Previous BIOS updates worked fine. I have opened couple of service requests in Windows Get Help to get that agent to call me, but I haven't heard anything yet.

BIOS update should not ever break Windows activation!!!

PC Specs:

i5-13600k, MSI Z790 Carbon Wi-fi, ASUS Strix RX 5700 XT

 

Windows 11 deactivated after bios update

Windows 11 has deactivated after I updated my bios, I wouldn't mind but it's now refusing to re-activate at all and appears to want me to buy a new one despite the fact the hardware's identical, so I'm not inclined to do this or agree with Microsoft's assertion that i've physically changed my hardware.

The error reported is

"We can't activate Windows on this device at the moment. You can try activating again later, or go to the store to buy genuine Windows. Error code: 0x803FABBA"

Not happy with Microsoft or my motherboard manufacturer for this, I've never in decades of using PCs and upgrading bios' seen this happen before.

 

CPU change will deactivate Windows 10?

Hi to all,

next months I'll upgrade to 10 from 7 Pro RETAIL.

And I'll update the CPU 2/3 times in a couple of year (only CPU, motherboard will be the same).

Changing only the CPU, will deactivate 10? And coming from a retail, can I reactivate without issue?
