Windows 10: Cumulative update stuck

My laptop was doing the update to 2025-06 cumulative... but was stuck at 20%. I followed the following instructions and now the laptop is stuck at "Preparing to configure..."StartFragment1. Restart or Stop/Start Windows Update Service:Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, Right-click "Windows Update" service > Stop, Restart your computer, and Go back to "Windows Update" service > Start.EndFragmentThe Restart went straight to the "Preparing..." message and is now sitting there with that message displayed and the ring? going round and round. It did not give me the option

2019-04 Cumulative Update KB4495667 stuck in restart to finish

My Pc runs Windows 10 Home 64 Bit v 1809

I noticed that Windows Update has had indigestion with the latest Cumulative Update (2019-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 v 1809 for x 64 bases systems KB4495667) which is stuck Requiring a restart to finish installing.

I have restarted several times with no luck.

Have also run the Trouble Shooter which could not identify the problem.

I then checked for updates in case it would offer it again, but all that was listed was 2019-02 Cumulative Update for NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 KB4486553 which has Successfully installed.

KB4495667 still refusing to do so.





I have downloaded it from from the Windows Update Catalogue ... file windows10.0-kb4495667-x64_a0713c961b994da102ee4a300d2f571ec567af20.msu

What is the safest thing to do now, do I just double click to install it?

I am no computer expert so will need easy to follow steps.

 

Downloading updates stuck at 0%


Hello everyone, Windows Update has been stuck at 0% every time I've tried in the last couple of days (see screenshot). These are the two updates available:

• Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3103688).

• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3105213).

 

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) is stuck at 90%

• Are you using wired/ wireless internet connection on your computer?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing Windows Updates components.
Try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Disable the third-party anti-virus software and try to create a recovery drive.

Step 2: I suggest you to run Windows Update troubleshooter.

Windows Update troubleshooter resolves problems that prevents you from updating windows.

• Press Windows + X, click on Control Panel, select
  Category and then select Large or Small icons.
• Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all
  in the left pane.
• Select Windows Update
• Click on Advanced, check mark
  Apply repairs automatically, and then click on Run as Administrator.
• Follow the onscreen instructions.
