Windows 10: Changing date of music files using bulk file changer isn't working in Windows

I've used the bulk file changer on Windows 10 for a few years, but I it doesn't appear to work with Win. 11. I deleted it and tried to reinstall it, which worked ok but there's no content empty. I've tried again on several occasions including restarting my computer with same resultI like the app because it's simple to use which suits me very well and would appreciate a "simple" suggestion on how to rectify the problem, if there is one, please.

I have been advised that by changing all the "date created" music files in a folder (and sub folders) to the same date will help my player play them back in random order more effectively, and it seems to be working. I'm doing it by basically copying the files into a new folder with the same name. It's a bit of a messy, time consuming process because I have quite a few Thumbnail USB drives stacked with music.

I was wondering whether downloading a program such as Bulk File Changer would be a quicker way of doing it?

If you want to change the date of your music files with this third-party software, you could use it, and it does change the date of your music files in bulk. I think it is more efficient software, because it can use commands to perform some operations. And it will serve your purpose. But you must use the software only if you trust it.

Bulk File Changer is a small utility that allows you to create files list from multiple folders, and then make some action on them - Modify their created/modified/accessed time, change their file attribute (Read Only, Hidden, System), run an executable with these files as parameter, and copy/cut paste into Explorer.

• Change Time / Attributes (F6): Allows you to modify the modified/created/accessed time of the selected files. You set them to specific time/date values or you can add/subtract days/hours/minutes/seconds from the existing file time. You can also modify the attributes of the files, like Read-Only, Hidden, and so on.
