Windows 10: USB Mouse & Keyboard Not Working After reWASD Conflict on Windows 11 HID Driver Issue

Hello Microsoft Support Team,I hope you're all well!I'm reaching out after spending hours trying to resolve a driver conflict that seems to have been caused by installing and uninstalling reWASD a popular input remapping tool for keyboards, mice, and controllers. Since then, my USB mouse, USB keyboard, and built-in trackpad have completely stopped working in Windows 11.System Info:•Laptop: ASUS TUF Gaming•OS: Windows 11 fully updated•CPU/GPU: AMD CPU, NVIDIA GPUProblem Summary:USB mouse and keyboard work in BIOS and during Windows recovery screens.Once Windows launches, they flash briefly

Windows 10 restart fails to initialize HID keyboard and mouse with usb connection

Exploring further with devcon it looks as though the issue is with the HID Keyboard Device and HID Mouse Device drivers.

Devcon status shows the drivers are running even after restart, but the Logitech usb connection led light is not on and remains off until the usb connection is removed and reinserted. (As described in the opening post of this thread.) And not an issue with
Windows 7.

Any suggestions?

I would like to know if you are getting any message when you connect the USB Keyboard and Mouse?


I suggest you to connect the USB Keyboard and Mouse to a different USB port and check if it works.


Also, plug your USB Keyboard and Mouse to a different system and check if it works.

Hardware and devices troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your mouse.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Mouse and keyboard don't work on Windows install

Its a new build i was trying to install my windows os

Thanks for your help my PS keyboard is working unfortunately my usb mouse/keyboard still do not work even after having my OS installed. How would i go about selecting to load the driver packages?
