Seriously. His 'We can't help you' *locks thread' approach to answering questions is getting kinda old. If someone needed a good asskicking, it'll be that dude, and the idiots who allowed him to be a 'volunteer'.Microsoft has always been a worthless **** company, so this doesn't surprise me in the least that they'd have useless volunteers.

My XP computer crashed and I had to reinstall XP. I NEED it to play dozens of games I purchased for it but was not able to play. Now I am retired and want to play those games. I also program using VB6 and need XP for that.

I reinstalled my box copy of XP and got it running again, but it only lasts 30 days because I can no longer register. I read your comments about asking Microsoft for help, but I can't get through to them now. Is there a way to register this product again using the key that came in the box? If not, is there a workaround?

I thought about writing Microsoft and explaining the situation, perhaps including a photo of the box with the key. However, I have a feeling I will not hear back from them..

 

query regarding Bill Smithers answer to Chris Grey's Question posted May 24th 2022

Chris Grey initially asked 'How to download and install the Microsoft store on has windows 8.1 PC, in order to re-install the 'Mail' App.

One of Bill Smithers Instructions was to 'Delete the Mail' App, which I did.

Now, As like Mr Grey, I am unable to find a way of gaining access to the store, Perhaps Mr Smithers might explain exactly how

can i download and re- install Both programs ?

Hi Bill.... thank you so very much for your help and response. I have a few questions.... so I wouldn't be able to use the recovery, the first option, because my system is not working at all correct? And that recovery is for Windows 8 and not 8.1 so I wouldn't use that correct?

Is creating a recovery image and creating an ISO file the same thing? If not which would you recommend that I use?

When I create the installation media do I download that to my computer and then send it to the flash drive? do I place it on the same flash drive that my installation media is on?

Is creating the installation media and making my flash drive bootable the same thing or are they two separate tasks?

Of everything that I need to create our download to restore my system does it all go on to the same flash drive as my ISO file or recovery Media or do I need to have two separate flash drives?

I'm not a real tech...y person just a lot of common sense... LOL.
