  2. Not restarting properly, Auto Repair, saying Password is wrong

Started having issues with my laptop yesterday. It took me to the automatic repair window claiming it couldn't restart properly, I've checked all the advanced options, letting the batter run down and whatnot. When I try start up repair or system restore it asks for password and keeps saying it's incorrect. I've even changed my password to make sure it's right but its still coming up with wrong password.

Please help, I desperately need my laptop for work. Been waiting in support queue for over an hour.

    Hi Patrik Husander Larsson,

Welcome to the Microsoft community and thank you for asking your question in the community!

Based on your description, I understand that you are unable to start Auto Repair and then you are prompted with an incorrect password, and you think that this may be due to the update you installed that is preventing you from starting. Here I suggest you try to enter safe mode to uninstall the update, here are the steps to enter safe mode:

    • When you turn on the computer, press and hold the power button (for about 5 seconds). (Repeat this action more than 2 times until you see the words "Preparing Automatic Repair")

    • Press the Advanced Options button.

    • Press the Troubleshoot button.

    • Press the Advanced Options button.

    • Press the Startup Settings button

    • Press the Restart button.

    • Press "4" for Safe Mode.

After entering Safe Mode and opening "Programs and Features", click on "View Installed Updates" in the upper left corner, which is where all the automatically installed Windows updates are. Click "Installation time" to sort by time, select the latest update, click "Uninstall". After uninstallation, restart the computer, if we uninstalled the right things affecting the system, then this time should have been able to enter the system normally.

Please let me know if I have misunderstood. Tell us the results and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,
