Windows 10: Where to get SHA256 Hash for Microsoft ISO downloads?

When using MSDN subscription to download ISO files, there used to be the SHA56 hash shown in the information section for the download.These appear to no longer be there.Seeking to see if anyone can advise where to access this information now, so I may verify my ISO files.I asked ChatGPT, and it advises me that Microsoft does not publish them anymore.I find this confusing, as how does one very the downloads then.Thanks if anyone assist me here.

Downloaded Windows-10 4 times with media tool and they are all of a different SHA256 hash code?

I wanted to download the Windows 21H2 Nov-10 2021 installation disk for my new PC that I am building (waiting for the parts to arrive). I do not want to use my old Win-10 DVD and spend 6 hours to download 2000 updates.

Upon starting to burn it to a blank DVD with the Microsoft media creationtool, it gave an error (did not write it down) but looking up on internet, the most frequent reason found was a wrong Hash Code. So I downloaded it again with the same Windows media creation tool and to my surprise, its SHA256 hash code was different then the first one. I use the 7zip tool to give me the SHA256 code. So to be sure, I downloaded the same file again with the same media tool 2 other times. All 4 files have a different SHA256 hash tool !

I downloaded the tool and ran it 4 times in the same aftertoon today.

How can I trust this ISO file from Microsoft if it keeps being a different file everytime when I use the same exact Microsoft media creation tool and through it I ask to download the same exact Windows-10 version?

Good day! This is and I will be happy to assist you with this.

The reason for the difference in hash values is because Windows Media Creation tool creates its ISO from a .ESD file (compressed version) instead of an ISO and that file changes which causes the hash to change too when the ISO is created. If you want to download an ISO directly, you will need to perform these steps on one of your browser to bypass being directed into using the media creation tool.

To download Windows 10 ISOs using Windows 10, you will need to change your browser's user agent. Without this step, Microsoft will force you to download the Media Creation Tool.

Change User Agent Using Mozilla Firefox Browser:

1) Launch Firefox. Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.

2) Enter general.useragent.override into the search preference name box.

3) Select String and save with the + button.

4) Use the user agent of a non-Windows browser such as WebKit/Blink as the setting value.

7) Restart Firefox by closing all windows for the changes to take effect.

Download ISO and View Hash

1) After changing your user agent, navigate to the Microsoft ISO download site. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

2) Select the version and language of your choice.

3) Select Verify Your Download to view and copy the hash for your selected iso.

Verify Hash in Powershell (Windows 10)

1) Right-click Start and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

2) Navigate to the folder with the iso image.

cd ~/Downloads

3) Check the hash

Get-FileHash Win10_2004_English_x64.iso | Format-List

Verify Size and Hash of ISO Downloaded

Thanks for your reply. The SHA256 you gave did not match with my any of the ISOs.

Also, to verify my download isnt broken, I downloaded the ISO again. and I can understand that ISOs have different SHA256s that were downloaded on the same day.
