Windows 10: Windows 11 - everything breaks after click on an app in the search bar.

Hi this problem only started in the past hour or so and its quite frustrating, ive restarted my pc around 3-4 times and dont tell me to restart the windows explorer because that doesnt work. When i search the xbox app or another app in the search bar itll pop up but when i click on it, nothing appears and then i cant click off of the search bar. The program however shows that its running in task manager, If i do manage to close the search bar i cant reopen it again and nothing in the taskbar works until i restart windows explorer and the cycle repeats. Please help.

Search Bar on Windows 11 Issues

I am having issues with my Windows 11 Search function. I notice when I open my search bar I start to type it freeze then drops.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Everything is up to date.

The touch Keyboard suggestion that service was running and could not b stoppped.

 

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Apologies for the late reply.



Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

Search Bar/Cortana

From the description, I understand that you are still receiving the pop up notifications, despite having disabled the search functionality in windows 10.

Steps to disable the Search Bar

• Right click on the task bar.
• Select the "Search" option.
• Select "Disable."

However, if the above steps don't work out, perform the below suggested steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Open a CMD window started as Administrator.

Repair corruption: Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.

Run this command next: Sfc /scannow

Now run these two commands:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
