  1. Win 11 reinstallation fails due to incompatible Hardware issue

Hi, I upgraded my Windows 10 installation to Windows 1123H2 modifying the registry key and it was working fine. Now due to performance issues, sfc /scannow : reported corrupted system files and repaired. The audio fails even though the driver is up to date. As a result, I need to reinstall windows 11 but I can't perform a clean installation, I mean I need to keep the user data as well as the installed apps. Hence, I tried to reinstall it, use different commands such as setup.exe /product server - in a word nothing worked as the setup fails due to hardware incompatibility issue. The command

  2. laptop win 11 incompatible, but attempts to reinstall at every reboot.

I Know my laptop is NOT compatible with windows 11.

(I have no TPM2.0 option visible in bios)

    My Processor

    ( Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50Ghz)

    whilst being above min. spec,

    is not currently supported either.

I therefore, obviously have NO intention of attempting to upgrade to Win 11.

The machine has other ideas !

Auto-download has already downloaded, and attempted to/failed to install win 11, multiple times.

Reading various comments elsewhere, At this point I should have been presented with the option:

"Do not install windows 11" .

I have not had this option, or I would have clicked on it !

I do still however need to download windows 10 updates, at least whilst still supported.

Automatic Downloads has been manually set to "off", in registry, and saved as such.

Machine continues to ignore this, and is constantly downloading updates, regardless.

Constantly Stuck in the following loop:

"Windows was unable to update to windows 11. Reboot machine to roll back update".

If I then hit reboot, and leave it alone to restart, it then stays on the updating (With timer spinning) screen for hours.

If I hold PWR Button, to kill it. then manually reboot, it then restarts without this loop.

I shouldn't need to do this every time I want to get in !

How can I get out of this stupid loop?

which update contains the windows 11 upgrade? There is nothing in the "Uninstall an Update" list, suggesting which one it is.

Can someone offer a step by step please, which DOES NOT include the usual "Pause updates" routine, as that method has been tried, unsuccessfully.

    Regards.

  3. Lenovo 2 11 w/Windows 10 touchpad issue

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

This issue may occur due to corrupted or incompatible drivers, missing updates, incorrect device settings or hardware problems.

    Method 1:

Let's first run hardware and troubleshooter and check.

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Type “Troubleshooting “in the search box and hit
      enter.
    • Click on Hardware and sound.
    • Click on Hardware and device and follow the on-screen instructions.
    Method 2:

If the issue is not resolved, I would suggest you to un-install and re-install touchpad driver from the manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Un-install the drivers:

    Follow these steps:

    • Click on Start icon.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Right click on the
      touchpad drivers and select “Uninstall”.
    • Restart the computer once it is uninstalled.
    Step 2:

I would suggest you to install latest touchpad driver from the manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you.

Win 11 reinstallation fails due to incompatible Hardware issue

    Optical Drive Issue

    Hello Anak –

Appreciate your detailed return. Your added steps really helped.

Assuming I did the steps correctly, this is where I am now.

Screenshot 12 shows my CD Disc shortcut on my desktop.
Screenshot 10 shows the CD Drive shortcut listed in the “Send to” listing.
Screenshot 11 shows the “Send to” listing after the steps were taken, but the CD drive name is not listed.

So, it appears the steps did not work for me. And, I did try the steps, “If it still won’t do ……” and still no luck.

    What do you think?

    JerryA
