After resetting my computer to remove a virus, detailed in this post and now, most applications are now running fine, windows default photo viewer isn't working properly for me. Any image I try to open shows up as below, just a blank white screen. I have tried repairing and resetting the app in settings, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, nothing. The only other photoviewing applications also affected are those with a similar build, like "Picsart AI Photo editor", sufficiently different photoviewers like "Paint.net", "XnViewer MP"and even other imbuild ones like "Paint" are workin

I suggest you to follow the below steps in order to change the default image viewer to Paint.

• In search,
• Type Default Programs.
• Check whether Windows Photo Viewer is listed in the list.
• Left click on the photo viewer and select the option paint.

• Were you able to view other photos using Windows 10 image viewer aside from those that have black lines on a transparent background?
• Have you done any changes on your computer prior to this issue?
• Does the image show normally on other photo apps?
• Which image file format are you using?

Am familiar with Windows Essentials: Photo Gallery, have used it on all of the Windows O/S PC/laptops I have had.

And have seen the Windows 10 'Photos' App, on my Windows 10 Apps list, have a look at it from time to time?
