Windows 10: Error 0X80070035 “The network path was not found.”

I have been troubleshooting the ongoing, unresolved problem I am having with file and printer sharing on my Windows 11 Home 24H2 system.I have tried virtually all of the suggestions by people in the forum without success.There seems to be general agreement that the problem is caused by the 24H2 update which has not been addressed by Microsoft in its update programme.However, I would be grateful for an opinion on a discrepancy between what is listed in MSC Services/Workstation and what is listed in the Registry CurrentControlSet\Services\workfolderssvc.The Log On in Services/Workstation is

• Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
  
• Are you using multiple computers that are connected to a network?

Folders shared on one system (or vice versa) not viewable/accessible on other: Error code 0x80070035, The network path was not found in explorer. Machines show in Explorer. Can see self in explorer and shared folders [& accessible] but not other machine (or vice versa): Error code 0x80070035, The network path was not found Add any more machines to network, same issues. What once upon a time so readily worked in XP is now a defunct nightmare. See below screenshot:

Connection irrelevant. Same issue laptop wired via router to wired desktop or laptop via WiFi. No issue with RAS or RAS app i.e. Remote Utilities

 

Error 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found

Hello,

I'm having an issue connecting to a fresh install of Windows 10 Home, from a Windows 10 Pro Laptop.

I have set up a bunch of shares on the desktop (computer name HTPC), and can access them from that computer directly when I navigate to \\HTPC.

However, when I try to connect from my laptop (on the same network), it shows up on the list of devices in my network, but when I try to open it, I get the Error 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found.

Any suggestions?

I've already turned off password protected sharing (I want these files totally open to anyone on network). I am trying to avoid the use of a homegroup, as there are other non-windows devices which will eventually need to connect as well.
