Windows 10: Bluetooth disconnects or gets spotty if i dont play audio at all times

i bought a bluetooth speaker last week for my PC, and it disconnects, or gets static/lag, if i don't play audio at all timesi have checked by connecting it to my phone, and it is not the speaker. It is my PC who keeps disconnecting iti don't even have to not play anything for long, a couple seconds is all it takes...it is something with the bluetooth, but i can't figure out what

Avantree Audition Pro Headset

All hardware purchased summer 2016. Worked fine until roughly spring 2017. The headset shows up as 2 devices (one for stereo audio, and 1 as a headset device). The Stereo has much better audio since its not sending mic data on the same bluetooth connection.
Unfortunately, the Stereo device keeps disconnecting as soon as audio is played. At first I thought it was the headset and went to the manufacturer, but discovered cycling my bluetooth on my laptop, or restarting my laptop would fix it (temporarily). The headset
also worked fine when connected to other devices.

So far:

Reset my headset to factory settings

Removed/repaired the headset

Updated/deleted/installed drivers for: Headset, audio controller, bluetooth

Disabled bluetooth power management control

Restarted laptop a bazillion times

Headset will connect, and as soon as audio tries to play it disconnects. Every once in a while it will work, but only for maybe a day. Windows Support was utterly useless. Had be run the 1 step automate troubleshooter and then hit me up for $149 for tech
support

 

Windows: Wireless/bluetooth headphones disconnect and then reconnect without sound if pc stops playing sound

Windows version: 10 pro, version 10.0.17134 Build 17134 (according to system information)

headphone brand: 3sixT wireless bluetooth headphones
laptop: surface laptop

Issue:

Headphones connect to laptop, listed in bluetooth settings as connected for voice,music

If I don't start playing any sounds (music, youtube etc) in the next ~30 seconds after connecting, the headphones alert me that they have disconnected and reconnected, but now they list only voice connected. Same thing happens if I was listening to something and stop/pause it for too long.

They are no longer available in the audio output changer in task bar when this happens and any audio played goes through laptop main speakers.

The device manufacturer (3sixT) does not provide any drivers and they seem to use the standard bluetooth headphone drivers available on whatever system they are connected to.

These headphones connect without issues to my phone (android); issue only seems to be with my laptop.

Unable to find many discussions of similar issues, and those that I could used outdated advice / settings that no longer exist (one suggested something in power settings for the device under the device manager page, but that setting/tab doesn't appear for my device)

tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, rolling back drivers, making sure bluetooth service start automatically... Nothing seems to work

Any ideas how I can resolve this, so that my headphones can sit quetly for any amount of time without disconnecting / reconnecting without dropping the 'connected music' setting?

 

Windows disconnecting from Bluetooth speaker when playing audio

Hi!

Whenever I'm trying to connect to my bluetooth speaker (Harman Kardon Onyx 3), Windows is only connecting to the Hands-Free speaker which results in terrible audio quality. At first, Windows also connects to the "Stereo Speaker", but whenever I'm trying
to play audio on the stereo speakers, they get disconnected and all I'm left with is the "Hands Free" speaker. I've used this speaker perfectly before, so this is not a problem of incompatibility as some Microsoft representants here have suggested.

I've tried reinstalling and updating drivers for all Bluetooth devices including the Bluetooth adapter. I'm on a Surface Book 2 with the latest Windows 10 1809 update.
