Windows 10: "Because you're accessing sensitive info, we'll send a code to [my email] to verify your...

I was trying to hook up my mobile device to my computer or just anything that requires for me to get a code never sends me one, whenever i am trying to "Access Sensitive Info" it doesnt send a code.

So, all of a sudden a pop-up shows up:





I checked the event log.

FWIW it goes like this:

Entering my pw will temporarily solve this and it will stay away for a while, the next day it will pop up again, I am sure.

Running applications:
Office 365 Home - Outlook and Excel, browser: Opera


A few emails are open, when this occurs.
I can't close them, unless I enter my Microsoft password.

Hi Shawn, many thanks for the above. Let's see. The "Because you're accessing sensitive info"-popups tend to show up at random. Sometimes in Excel, sometimes in Outlook.

BTW...
On top I am a bit puzzled as to the 'wmic' listing, where I am displayed at the bottom, instead of at the top as administrator.
Whereas under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts I am listed at administrator.

Any idea?

 

Verify Code (alt email) and Bitlocker

I had bitlocker kick in on my laptop and I'm trying to get the key from my info in my MS account I setup, BUT. Whenever I click that link (or any other security info link) I get the window that says it will send a code to my alt email address on file, but nothing is ever sent. I've checked the junk folder, setup the white list needed and everything else, the email is just not being sent from the MS servers. It worked the first time I was asked, (I received the code) but then nothing. I never received a email or code after that 1st time.

I know my email is good as I receive other emails, whatever command that button has to send out the verify codes is not working and I need to receive it so I can unlock my laptop. I hate to say it but in trying to help keep peoples computers safe, this bitlocker thing is doing the same thing they wanted to avoid, locking people out of their system and holding them at bay.

I've tried/done pretty much everything listed but with no luck.
