Volume suddenly unbearably loud but think it is a Windows issue rather than device

Hi,I have been using a USB headset device on my laptop for a year with no problems. It is a 2- Jabra Evolve2. Suddenly as of last night I've had to have youtube on like 1% volume so my eardrums don't burst. Its the same with all other websites. The reason I think this is a Windows issue rather than a problem with my headset is because when I move my volume up and down in windows it's not changing the volume at all. So I think there's some sort of device in the background that's suddenly causing it to be super loud even though it's recognising the Jabra Evolve as my output device.I went into d

Earphone volume too loud or too quiet on Windows 10

Hi I'm having a weird problem on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro. The earphone volume is either too loud or too quiet, and seems to switch between these two upon every restart. When it's too loud, keeping it at 1/100 is equivalent to 20-30/100 when sound was normal, when it's too quiet, keeping it at 100/100 is equivalent to 10-20/100 when sound was normal. Already googled extensively and tried pretty much every suggestion I found with no results:

    • Enable/disable loudness equalization in playback device settings
    • Enable/disable Windows Sonic for headphones in playback device settings
    • Check for errors in sound devices in device manager - no errors
    • Update sound drivers - all updated
    • Try different earphones - tried like 4 already, definitely not an issue with earphones
    • Even tried system restore, still not fixed

Does anyone know what else to try?

Removing Device from Docking station loud audio volume

    Running Windows 11 Pro

I have an Icy Dock and since I upgraded to Windows 11 I find ejecting a device to be really loud on the audio volume.

It's not safely remove that makes the noise I can control that with system sounds

It's when I actually power off the docking station and remove the drive that the audio volume is really loud.

This was not an issue in Windows 10 so if anyone can help I would be greatful.

audio fades in rather than play AT FULL VOLUME: Playback of any audio source via any audio output on the PC yields a fade in of the audio rather than audio playing back at full volume.
